Obituary
Mamie Sharp, 80, of La Salle, passed away comfortably surrounded by her family and friends on June 21, 2023 at CGH Medical Center in Sterling.
Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Thursday June 29, 2023 at Valley Memorial Park in Spring Valley with the Very Rev. Thomas Otto officiating. The Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle has been entrusted with Mamie’s funeral arrangements.
Mrs. Sharp was born in Spring Valley on September 18, 1942 to Bert and Jenny (King) Thompson. She married John W. Sharp who passed away in 1989.
Mamie is survived by five children Candy (Tate) Lashbrook of Ohio, John Thompson of Rock Falls, William (Patricia) Sharp of Rock Falls, Doug (Christina) Sharp of Monticello, IA, and Benjamin (Maria) Sharp of Oglesby; fourteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one brother Delbert (Charlotte) Thompson of Southern Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter Margaret Sharp, one son Louis Sharp, one brother, and two sisters.
