Malcolm R. “Mac” Medill, 93, of Dalzell passed away in his home on June 18, 2022.
Cremation rites have been accorded. The Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mr. Medill was born in La Salle on December 11, 1928 to Abraham R. and Beatrice (Gothier) Medill. He married Lucille J. Fillipeck on June 23, 1949. He served with the US Army. Mr. Medill owned M&M Records for 25 years. He loved music.
Mr. Medill enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening. He planted large gardens with many fruit trees. He also enjoyed playing poker once a month with his card group.
Mr. Medill is survived by one son Jay (Helen Locke) Medill of Dalzell; one daughter Melodie Krause of Evansville, IN; grandchildren John, Joe, Daniel, Sarah, and Rob; great grandchildren Rhys, Lorelei, and Levi; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Lucille on December 25, 2020, son Robbie Medill, sister Elizabeth, and son-in-law Kelly Krause.
