Ludwig "Lou" F. Karun Jr.

Ludwig “Lou” F. Karun Jr., 71, of Peru passed away at home on January 20, 2025.

Visitation will be 4-8:00 PM Wednesday, January 22, at the Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle. Private funeral services will be at the funeral home with Rev. Dominic Garramone OSB officiating.

Mr. Karun was born in La Salle on September 18, 1953 to Ludwig and Cecelia (Goletz) Karun.  He married Colleen Wenzel on October 19, 1974 at St. Valentine’s Church in Peru. Mr. Karun graduated from La Salle-Peru Township High School. He worked as an electrician for 50 years and was a member of the IBEW Local 176. He enjoyed boating, fishing, and golfing, and he was a devoted family man who loved spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren above all else.

Mr. Karun is survived by his wife Colleen of Peru; two sons Jason (Emilie) Karun of Bloomington and Joel (Jenna) Karun of Oglesby; five grandchildren Charlie, Sam, Henry, Vivienne, and Jack; and one brother Richard (Olivia) Karun.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Ron Karun.
