Lucille J. (Fillipeck) Medill

Lucille J. Medill, 89 of Dalzell, passed away December 25, 2020 in St. Margaret’s Hospital in Spring Valley.

Cremation rites have been accorded and a Celebration of Life will be at a later date.  The Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle is handling  Lucille’s  arrangements.

Mrs. Medill was born in Oglesby on June 15, 1931 to Stanislaw and Sophia (Kowalczyk) Fillipeck.  She graduated from La Salle-Peru Township High School in 1948.  She married Malcolm “Mac” Medill on June 23, 1949.  

Lucille was a Cosmetologist until her husband went to Germany in the United States Army and she followed.  Upon returning to the United States, she worked at Purity Drug Store and then she became owner of Lu’s Boutique.

Lucille is survived by her husband Mac of 71 years; one son, Jay (Helen Locke) Medill of Dalzell and one daughter, Melodie Krause of Evansville, IN; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one son Robbie Medill, three brothers, Stanley, Joseph and Albert Fillipeck and one sister Catherine Ristau.
