Lidia Nieto Lopez

Lidia Nieto Lopez, 87, of Michoacan, Mexico, passed away on November 1, 2024, at home peacefully surrounded by her family.

Funeral services will be at 4:00 PM Friday November 8, 2024, at St. Hyacinth Catholic Church with Rev. Thomas Otto officiating. Visitation will be from 4-7pm followed by mass in her dedication.

Lidia Nieto Lopez was born in Michoacan, Mexico on October 21, 1937, to Anselmo and Romana Nieto. She married Simon Vazquez in 1955. Lidia was a generous woman who helped others. She was a strong hardworking woman who enjoyed spending her time in her small shoe store and looking after her animals in her hometown. Lidia belonged to the Secular Franciscan Order since the age of 14 and the Association of the Nocturnal Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. She was the last survivor of her seven siblings. Lidia spent her final moments surrounded by love and laughter with her children and grandchildren.

Lidia is survived by ten of her 14 children: her 41 grandchildren, her 68 great-grandchildren, and her 6 great-great-grandchildren.

She has entered the arms of Our Lord alongside her parents, her husband Simon Vazquez, and 4 children.

Los servicios serán a las 4:00 p.m. del viernes 8 de noviembre de 2024 en la iglesia católica San Jacinto con el reverendo Thomas Otto oficiando. La visitación será de 4 a 7 p.m., seguida de una misa en su dedicación.

Lidia Nieto López nació en Michoacán, México el 21 de octubre de 1937, hija de Anselmo y Romana Nieto.

Se casó con Simón Vázquez en 1955. Lidia era una mujer generosa que ayudaba a los demás. Era una mujer fuerte y trabajadora que disfrutaba pasar su tiempo en su pequeña zapatería y cuidar de sus animales en su pueblo natal. Lidia perteneció a la Orden Franciscana Seglar desde los 14 años y La Asociación de la adoración nocturna del Santísimo Sacramento. Fue la última sobreviviente de sus siete hermanos. Lidia pasó sus últimos momentos rodeada de amor y felicidad junto a sus hijos y nietos.

A Lidia le sobreviven diez de sus 14 hijos: sus 41 nietos, sus 68 bisnietos y sus 6 tataranietos.

Ha entrado en los brazos de Nuestro Señor junto a sus padres, su esposo Simón Vázquez y 4 hijos.
