Kenneth Rathbun Obituary
Kenneth L. Rathbun, 86, of Peru, died December 21, 2019 in Liberty Village in Princeton.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A private burial will be in Peru City Cemetery at a later date. The Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle is assisting his family.
Mr. Rathbun was born in Peru on January 23, 1933 to Clifford and Elsie (Koehler) Rathbun. He served with the US Army from 1953 until 1955. He worked at the Igloo in Peru during the 40’s and 50’s. Ken then owned Mueller’s Style Shop in Peru, later Rathbun Floral Shop in Peru. The last 15 years he worked at Bergner’s in the Peru Mall.
Ken was a member of Zion United Church of Christ in Peru.
He is survived by two nephews, Frank (Renie) Rathbun of La Salle and Jim (Lori) Rathbun of Peru; three nieces Luanne (Dwayne) Peck of Prescott, AZ, Susan (Jay) Pienta of Rock Island, and Patti (George) Leynaud of Peru.
He was preceded in death by his parents, eight brothers and three sisters.
