Kenneth Myler

Kenneth Myler, 85, of Peru, passed away December 6, 2021 in Lacon Rehab and Nursing Center in Lacon.

Private burial will be in Peru City Cemetery.  The Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle is entrusted with Ken’s services.

Ken was born in Sidell on January 10, 1936 to Raymond A. and Hazel Marie (Cope) Myler. He taught accounting, typing, and shorthand at Tonica High School for 32 years and 4 years at La Salle-Peru Township High School.

He married Joyce Elliott on September 1, 1990.

Ken is survived by his wife Joyce of Peru; 4 children, Paula (Gary) Blanco, Sarah (Kevin) Castans, Steven Myler, Kenneth Robert Myler. When he married his first wife, she was the mother of two children and Ken adopted those children as his own: Greg Myler and Jacqueline Olson. He is also survived by one brother Richard (Peggy) Myler and one sister Betty (Rick) Brown; grandchildren; and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one daughter Lori and one sister Joanne.
