Kenneth Kwit, 82, of La Salle, died November 3, 2021, in Carle BroMenn Medical Center in Normal.
Mass of Christian burial will be 11:00 AM Monday in St. Patrick’s Church in La Salle with the Rev Paul Carlson and Deacon Dan O'Connor officiating. Burial will be in St. Vincent’s Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7:00 PM Sunday in the Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. Additional visitation will be in the church on Monday from 10:00 AM until time of services.
Ken was born in DePue on August 1, 1939 to Stanley and Mary (Suarez) Kwit. He married Arlene Gens in St. Roch’s Church on February 6, 1960. He was an iron worker before owning and operating Ken Kwit Builders for over 40 years. After retirement, he was an auto liaison for Jeff Perry and JP Motors, where he enjoyed his time driving and admiring the scenery along his routes. Ken enjoyed golfing, fishing, snowmobiling, and coaching basketball and baseball. His life was his family.
He is survived by his wife Arlene of La Salle, five children; Ken (Melissa) Kwit, of Bloomington, Scott (Kristin) Kwit, of Willow Springs, Terry (Anna) Kwit, of Dana Point, CA, John (Melissa) Kwit, of Naples, FL, and Bridget (Steve) Kress, of Carmel, IN, fifteen grandchildren; Ryan, Aaron, Courtney, Chase, Holly, Blaire, Spencer, Olivia, Nathaniel, Gabriel, Tristan, Skylar, Summer, Hayden, and Keira.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons and a great-nephew; Bradley Groleau.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Patrick’s Church.
