Karen A. Manuel, 61, of Wapello, IA, formerly of Wenona passed away on May 3, 2024 after a hard battle with her daughters by her side.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday at the Hurst Funeral Home in Wenona with Pastor Mark Gruden officiating. Visitation will be in the funeral home from 12:00 PM until time of services.
Karen was born in Chicago on October 20, 1962 to Robert and Patricia (Sweeney) Rosenow. She graduated from Wenona High School in 1981. She married Richard Manuel. Karen worked as a home health aide for the elderly and disabled in their homes.
Karen loved her daughters and grandchildren. They were her whole world. She loved her dogs as well. She also enjoyed being outside watching the birds and caring for her plants. She liked watching gameshows, soap operas, especially The Young and The Restless, and Judge Judy.
Karen is survived by her two daughters Maria Haag and Donna Manuel; three grandchildren Jacob Haag, Bryce Cohn, and Lacey Beimer; her mother Patricia Rosenow; one sister Maureen Mowers; two brothers Ronald Rosenow and Thomas Rosenow; and a niece Serenity Lenhausen.
She was preceded in death by her father Bob Rosenow.
