Juliana M. Hardy, 91, of La Salle, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2024, in Allure of Peru.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Tuesday August 20, 2024, in St. Patrick’s Church in La Salle with Rev. Gregory Jarzombek OSB officiating. Visitation will be 9:30 AM Tuesday until time of services in the church. The Hurst Funeral Home is entrusted with her arrangements.
Juliana was born in Depue on June 19, 1933, to Guadalupe and Dolores (Tinoco) Gusman. She worked at Bassick’s in Spring Valley for many years before retiring from Mennie Machine Co.
Juliana was an avid Chicago Cubs, Bulls and Bears fan. She enjoyed learning to sew in her later life. She loved traveling, Elvis, and Betty Boop. She was a long-time member of St. Patrick’s Church and Altar and Rosary Society.
Juliana is survived by two daughters, Debby (Larry) Brown of Hennepin and Patricia Hardy-Liles of La Salle; one son Robert V. Hardy Jr. of La Salle; six grandchildren, Deana (Nick) Simmer, Angela (Pitt Hamilton) Campbell, Tiffany Mennie (Jeremy Jessen), Brandon (Katie) Mennie, Michael Hardy and Emma Myles Hardy; two great grandchildren, Lucy and Oscar Mennie; one sister Gloria (Dale) Samolinski of Peru; three brothers, Robert (Barbara) Gusman of Peoria, Andy Gusman of Chillicothe and Gus (Leah) Gusman of Louisiana.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son Mark Hardy, her former husband Robert Hardy, four brothers and two sisters.
Pallbearers will be Tiffany Mennie, Brandon Mennie, Michael Hardy, Pitt Hamilton, and Nick Simmer.
