Joshua Alan Ellis

Joshua Alan Ellis, 48, of Princeton, passed away October 5, 2025.

Funeral services will be 4:00 PM Sunday, October 12, at the Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle with Pastor Alex Garncarz officiating.  A Celebration of Life visitation will be Sunday in the funeral home from 2 to 4:00 PM.  Burial will be private.

Joshua was born in Peru on July 20, 1977 to Raymond and Debbie (Wiese) Ellis.  Joshua graduated from La Salle-Peru Township High School.  He was a great carpenter.  He worked as a finishing carpenter on the Trump Towers in Chicago.

Joshua loved his family and friends.  His welcoming smile, great laugh, and wonderful sense of humor was enjoyed by everyone he was around.  He always had a twinkle in his eyes.

Josh is survived by his son, Skyler Ellis of Princeton; his daughter, Kieragan Ellis of Princeton; his significant other, Nickole Allen of Princeton; two sisters, Janella Ellis Osborn of Rock Island and Amy Ellis of Minonk; and many nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his wife Rachel Lynn Mathers and his parents.
