Josephine “Jo” Lynn (Davis) Duckett, 44, of Davenport, IA, formerly of La Salle, passed away February 1, 2023 at the University of Iowa Hospital.
A Celebration of Life will be 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Saturday at the Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle.
Jo was born in Aurora December 26, 1978 to Jessie James and May Victoria (King) Davis. At an early age, she was adopted by Dan and Sharon Zorn. She graduated from La Salle-Peru Township High School. Jo served with the US Army as Private First Class. She married Winfred Duckett. She worked at Wal-Mart in Davenport. She enjoyed sports, video games (even if she was bad), watching TV and movies, and heckling her kids.
Jo was universally considered a pain in the ass, stubborn as hell, but would give her life for her family and friends. She loved hard and didn’t give up on others. A diehard Dallas Cowboy fan, and if you disagreed with her, you were wrong. She dreamed of getting a huge, old truck if that tells you anything. She donated her organs like the hero she was. The best mother/daughter/friend anyone could ask for.
Jo is survived by her parents Dan and Sharon of La Salle; three children Fredrick Davis, Jerry and Josh Jones all of La Salle; one sister Jessica Sondgeroth of La Salle; two brothers Orville Davis of GA and Josh Davis of Aurora.
She was preceded in death by her biological parents Jessie and May and her husband Winfred.
