Obituary
Joseph R. Micheli, 34, of Tonica passed away unexpectedly February 22, 2023 at St. Margaret’s Health in Spring Valley.
Funeral services will be 12:00 PM Tuesday February 28, 2023 at the Hurst Funeral Home in Tonica with Rev. Phil Jackson, pastor of Tonica United Methodist Church, officiating. Visitation will be in the funeral home Tuesday from 10:00 AM until time of services.
Joe was born in Spring Valley on November 18, 1988 to Kelly and Anita (Hobneck) Micheli. Joe formerly worked at the Starved Rock Lodge and then KFC/Taco Bell in Oglesby. He was very active in the Starved Rock Special Olympics and loved playing Nintendo.
Joe is survived by his parents Kelly and Anita of Tonica; one sister Gail (Dan Dixon) Micheli of Kenosha, WI; one nephew Bryce Heiden; two nieces Alina and Molly Dixon; step grandmother Rhoda Hobneck of Tonica; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Robert and Hazel Hobneck, paternal grandparents Bob and Madge Micheli, an aunt and uncle, and his favorite buddy, his dog, Bodhi.
