John P. Happ, 54, of Peru passed away on March 7, 2022 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria surrounded by his family.
Mass of Christian burial will be 11:00 AM Saturday at St. Joseph’s Church in Peru with Rev. J.A. Small officiating. Burial will be private. Visitation will be Friday from 4-7:00 PM at Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle. Additional visitation will be Saturday in the church from 10:00 AM until time of services.
John was born in Spring Valley on February 10, 1968 to James and Alice (Boyd) Happ. He married Carol Ebener in Holy Family Church in Oglesby on August 3, 1991. He worked in the maintenance department at US Silica in Ottawa.
John will be remembered for his humor and making people laugh. He enjoyed watching sports and especially watching his children play sports. He also enjoyed playing euchre, listening to music, and going to concerts. He was an avid Cubs fan. John was a hard worker. His pride and joy were his kids.
John is survived by his wife Carol of Peru; one son Adam of Chicago; two daughters Abby and Emma of Peru; three brothers James (Susan) Happ of Peru, Steve Happ of Peru, and Randy (Teresa) Happ of Milan; two sisters Rose (Gary) Szott of Naperville and Sue (Mike) Zamin of Peru; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and his twin brother Thomas Happ.
