Jody J. Koehler, 75, of Peru, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2022 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Mass of Christian burial was Tuesday October 11 at St. Patrick’s Church in La Salle with Rev. Michael Pica officiating. Burial was in Valley Memorial Park in Spring Valley. A Celebration of Life will be 3-7:00 PM at Oak Ridge Golf Course on Saturday November 26. The Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle has assisted the family with arrangements.
Mr. Koehler was born in Spring Valley on December 21, 1946 to Elmer and Gladys (Cox) Koehler. He married Judy Casford on January 24, 1970. He was a 1965 graduate of St. Bede Academy. Mr. Koehler attended Creighton University in Omaha, NE and earned a Doctoral Degree in Pharmacy. Mr. Koehler worked as the Director of Pharmacy with Illinois Valley Community Hospital and also, with IVCH, as an assistant administrator. He later worked at Doc’s Pharmacy in El Paso and Henry, and he ended his career working at OSF St. Joseph’s Hospital in Bloomington.
Mr. Kohler enjoyed photography in his early years. Later in life, he enjoyed golfing and was a member of Oak Ridge Golf Course. He was an avid fan of Kansas sports.
Mr. Koehler is survived by his wife Judy of Peru; two sons Patrick (Bethany) Koehler of Kasson, MN and Shawn (Amy) Koehler of Peru; six grandchildren Carlee, Mira, Finn, Sadie, Lila, and Luke; nieces Cindy and Jill; brother-in-law George (Lisa) Casford of Granville; and his beloved dog Sophie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Heidi in 1980, brother Jay Hansen, and his in-laws George and Hope Casford.
