Joan L. Bucar

Joan L Bucar of Peru passed away peacefully on May 29, 2021.  She was surrounded with love. 

Funeral services will be held at the Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle. Visitation will be Monday from 4-7:00 PM. Additional visitation will be Tuesday from 10:00 AM until time of services. Services will begin at 11:00 AM Tuesday in the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Vincent’s Cemetery.

Joan is survived by her children, daughter Jackie Powell of Eldon, MO, her son Michael Bienemann of LaSalle. Grandchildren Kim (Becherini) Serchuk and Dave Serchuk of Hartford WI, Paul and Jackie Bienemann of Scottsdale, AZ, Jacob Bienemann of Peru, Gavin Imler of Rocky Mount, MO, and Angela (Bienemann) Zmia and Tony Zmia of Streator.  Great-Grandchildren Marissa Serchuk, Lauren Imler, MaKenna Imler, Lili Bienemann, Lydia Zmia, Izzie Zmia, Leia Zmia, and James Imler.  Special friend Chuck Taliani.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents Nello Papini, Rose Venturi, and her husband Frank Bucar.

Joan loved entertaining others at her home. She and Frank were amazing dancers and we loved watching them dance.  They danced weekly at the Paramount or anywhere Johnny Kaye was playing.  Spending time with her family was her number one priority.  She was the most loving and giving person.  She loved you fiercely and was extremely protective of those she loved.  She was definitely feisty and very strong.  She had a great sense of humor and loved a good joke.  She enjoyed walking at the mall, doing crossword puzzles, reading,  watching Wheel of Fortune, and going out to eat.  She was always doing something to keep busy.
