Jeffrey E. Hylin

Jeffrey E. Hylin, 61, of Leonore, passed away October 2, 2023 at OSF St. Paul’s Medical Center in Mendota.

Memorial services will be 11:00 AM Saturday October 21, 2023 in Tonica United Methodist Church with Rev. Phil Jackson officiating.  Visitation will be in the church 10:00 AM until time of services.  The Hurst Funeral Home in Tonica is entrusted with his services.

Jeff was born in Spring Valley on March 10, 1962 to Donald and Donna (Roeder) Hylin. He graduated Tonica High School and then received his welding certificate and worked for Morton Builders. He was a member of Tonica United Methodist Church.

Jeff enjoyed duck hunting and fishing. He enjoyed going on fishing trips and snowmobiling up north. Jeff also traveled to the Bahamas, Mexico, Hawaii, Canada, and overseas to a few countries. He loved the St. Louis Cardinals and going to games. He was also a Bears and Illini fan. Jeff played baseball, basketball, and golf. He also enjoyed his collection of ducks.

Jeff is survived by his mother Donna Carls of Tonica; his sister Cheryl Schrader of Peru; two nephews Nick and Jason Pelka; niece Janeth Orellana; great nieces and nephews; aunts; uncles; and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, grandparents, and one brother Steve Hylin.
