Jane A. Schoepke, 83, of Wenona, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2025 at Parker Nursing and Rehab Center in Streator.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, February 26, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Wenona with Rev. William Callister officiating. Burial will be at Bethany Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church from 9:00 AM until time of services. The Hurst Funeral Home in Wenona is entrusted with Jane’s funeral arrangements.
Mrs. Schoepke was born in Streator on August 25, 1941 to Edward and Edna (Flesburg) Nenne. She married Roger Schoepke on December 1, 1963. She was a salesclerk at Wenona Dry Cleaners and was secretary of Bethany Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Schoepke enjoyed gardening, sewing, embroidering, cooking, baking, and playing cards. She loved raising her children and grandchildren and babysitting her “other grandchildren” who called her “Grandma Jane”. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church and the church Women’s Club, Eastern Star and Trowel and Hobby Club. She graduated from Wenona High School and Browns’ Business College in Peoria.
Jane is survived by two daughters, Tammi (Keith) Coons of Dana and Pamela (Paul) Summers of Antioch; five grandchildren Jessica Coons, Brittney (Ian) Thomas, Melissa (Charles) Barth, Kelly Coons, and Kyle Dethloff; and four great grandchildren Kairi, Dexter, Rowan, and Emory.
She was preceded in death by her husband Roger on January 10, 1990, her parents, and one brother Kenneth Nenne.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to her church or the Alzheimer’s Association.
