James “Jimmy” F. Lucas, 71, of La Salle, passed away peacefully in his home on February 7, 2020.
Funeral services will be 7:00 PM Tuesday in the Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle with The Very Rev. Paul Carlson, pastor of La Salle Catholic Parishes officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM Tuesday until time of services. Burial will be private in St. Vincent’s Cemetery in La Salle.
Jimmy was born in La Salle on August 26, 1948 to James T. and Betty (Engelman) Lucas. He worked at Electrical Utilities.
Jimmy was kind, helpful, loved visiting all of the family and never had an enemy. Jimmy was deaf but you’d never know it. He was in the middle of all the parties, birthday celebrations and family events getting somebody a drink or cleaning up the Christmas wrapping paper or helping one of the grandchildren put together a present they had received. He loved wrestling (you know the real stuff on TV), fishing and projects. He loved life. We will all miss you.
Jimmy is survived by one sister, Linda (Lance) Laurence of Peru; one brother Gary (Rhonda) Lucas of Princeton; four nephews, Jason (Lori) Tomlinson, Dustin (Jenny Grygiel) Brown, Dillon and Cody Lucas and thirteen great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Michael in infancy, and a niece Holly Tomlinson.
