James "Roy" Hensley Jr.

James “Roy” Hensley Jr., 77, of LaSalle, passed away at Aperion Care in Spring Valley on August 25, 2021.

Memorial Services with be September 11th from 1:00 until 4:00 PM in the Hurst Funeral Home in LaSalle. There will be no reception following the services.

James was born in New Madrid, MO on January 1, 1944 to James “Doc” and Bessie (Sharkey) Hensley. He worked in maintenance in Heritage Health in Mendota. He enjoyed fishing and listening to music, especially guitar music. He also enjoyed watching wrestling and westerns.

James is survived by five children; Melissa Hensley of LaSalle, Rob Hardy of Camden, OH, Brian (Rhonda) Hensley of Kangley, Tina Hensley of LaSalle, and Douglas Hensley of Peru, fifteen grandchildren, twenty-six and a half great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren, eight brothers and sisters; Arzella Starkey of Topeka, KS, Peggy Fuller of Twin Cities, MN, Tony Hensley of Cherry, Bill Hensley of Mendota, Marilyn Rodriguez of Mendota, Tammy Hendricks of Mendota, Danny Hensley of Mendota, and Ellen Ceretto of Spring Valley.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one granddaughter; Renee, one great-great granddaughter; Scarlett, and two sisters; Linda Hensley and Ruth Ferroni.
