James “Jim” T. Desper, 62, of Oglesby, passed away unexpectedly at home on February 13, 2025.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Burial will be at a later date. The Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle has been entrusted with his arrangements.
Jim was born in La Salle on May 29, 1962 to James A. and Mary Ann (Entwistle) Desper. He worked as an electrician and was a jack-of-all trades. He was also a very skilled welder. Jim was a sportsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also loved his family and his dog.
Jim is survived by one sister Cathy (Brad) Zomboracz of Pipestone, MN; one nephew Rick Nickel; nieces Randi Nickel, Mary (Steven) Kannas, Stacey (Howie) Zomboracz, Michelle (Mike) Brown, Megan (Mike) Cullenan, and Nicole Zomboracz; and many good friends including Tom Alleman, Roger Hegland, Jerry Jereb, Jeff Arkins, and Jerry Gramer.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a great nephew AJ Nickel.
