James Brophy

James Brophy, 61, of Dalzell, passed away unexpectedly at home on December 26, 2024.

Cremation rites have been accorded and private graveside services will be at a later date in Valley Memorial Park in Spring Valley.  The Hurst Funeral Home in Ladd is entrusted with his funeral arrangements.

Jim was born in Dixon on January 9, 1963 to Donald and Ann (Schwartz) Brophy.  He married Lori Ann Eiten in St. Benedict’s Church in Ladd on May 29, 2004.  Lori passed away on March 22, 2016.  Jim worked at Letterkraft in Peru.

Jim was very mechanically inclined, loved riding his motorcycle and was an avid gamer.

Jim is survived by three sister-in-laws, Lynn (Michael) Klein of Cherry, Carla (Robert) Breisch of McHenry and Lisa (the late Dean) Eiten of Ottawa; several cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Lori Ann, one brother Joseph Brophy, brother-in-law Dean Eiten and in laws, Lavern and Patricia Eiten.
