Jaquelyn “Jackie” Monti, 94, of Wenona passed away at her home on July 2, 2025.
Mass of Christian burial will be 11:00 AM Thursday, July 10 at St. Mary's Church in Wenona with the Franciscan Friars officiating. Burial will be at Cumberland Cemetery in Wenona. Visitation will be in the church on Thursday, July 10, from 10:00 AM until time of services. The Hurst Funeral Home in Wenona has been entrusted with Jackie’s arrangements.
Jackie was born in Wenona on March 18, 1931, to C.J. and Marion (Pettit) Brown. She attended Wenona schools and then ISU, where she majored in music.
For 40 years in the Wenona and Peoria area, she taught piano and entertained, forming the “Jackie Pearl Trio and Quartet,” where she met and married fellow musician Terry Monti.
She and her family moved to Wenona in 1978, where she continued to teach piano and perform with her quartet. She was a member of St Mary's Catholic Church, Trowel and Hobby Club, and the Wenona Literary Club. Jackie loved to cook and garden, but her most cherished roles in life were those of mother and grandmother.
Jackie is survived by her daughter, Jennie (Alan) Hays; her son Tony (Dawn) Monti; step-son, Scott (Michelle) Monti; three grandchildren, Katie, Maddie, and Nick; two sisters, Mary Jane (Bob) Gillespie and Ann (Russ) Martin; cousin, Mimi Steinbauer; and many nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Terry Monti, and sister-in-law, Sylvia (Joe) Anderson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to The A.R.K. Humane Society in Lacon.
