Jacqueline Shevlin, 90, of Peru, passed away June 14, 2022 at La Salle County Nursing Home in Ottawa.
Mass of Christian burial will be 11:00 AM Friday at St. Joseph’s Church in Peru. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Webster Park. Visitation will be in the church on Friday from 10:00 AM until time of services. The Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mrs. Shevlin was born in La Salle on September 20, 1931 to Anton and Anna (Kostellic) Perhay. She married Donald F. Shevlin on May 1, 1954. Mrs. Shevlin worked at Pierson’s Bakery and then McDonald’s in Peru. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Church. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mrs. Shevlin was survived by three sons Allen (Karla) Shevlin of Overland Park, KS, Jeffrey (Carmen) Shevlin of Peru, and Timothy (Sarah) Shevlin of Peru; six grandchildren Andrew Shevlin, Erika (James) Sprong, Scott (Karina) Shevlin, Ryan Shevlin, Kyle (Christy) Shevlin, and Sarah (Ricky Gaeta) Shevlin; and seven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Donald on February 7, 2022 and thirteen brothers and sisters.
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
