Imogene Hammer

Imogene Hammer, 102, of La Salle, passed away March 21, 2022 in Heritage Health in Peru.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday in the Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle with Brother John Eustice officiating.  Burial will be 12:00 PM Wednesday at Evergreen Cemetery in Kinmundy. Visitation will be Tuesday in the funeral home from 9:00 AMuntil time of services.

Mrs. Hammer was born in Ludlow on September 28, 1919 to Frank and Olive (Blurton) Kline. She married Howard Hammer in 1946. She worked as a dental assistant for several years.

Mrs. Hammer enjoyed trips and being on the go. She liked reading, crocheting, and cooking.

Mrs. Hammer is survived by one daughter Jane (LaVerne) Stodden of La Salle; three grandchildren Beth (Ryo) Fujinuma, Sara (Garret) Pasowicz, and Melissa (Matthew) Roberts; and six great grandchildren Kazuo, Gwen, Evy, Sammy, Paige, and Georgia.

She was preceded in death by her husband Howard in 1976, one son and daughter-in-law Frank and Sue Hammer, one sister Hilda Koss, and one brother Dean Kline.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Illinois Valley Food Pantry.
