Ida Marie Warner

Ida Marie Warner 94, formerly of Wenona, died at 4:10 pm July 8,2011 in Liberty Village in Streator where she had resided the past 9 years.  Funeral services will be 10:00 am Wednesday in Zion Lutheran Church in Wenona with Rev Peter M. Glock officiating.  Burial will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in Varna.  Visitation will be from 4:30  to 7:00 pm on Tuesday and 9:00 am Wednesday until of services.  Both visitations are in the church.  The Hurst Funeral Home in Wenona is handling arrangements. Mrs Warner was born in Dunlap on March 1,1917 to Louis and Rose(Geiger)Stahl.  She married George A. W. Warner in Peoria on August 13,1939.  Mrs Warner attended ISU and after taught school in rural Peoria County.  After raising her family she went back to teaching elementary school in Lostant and Wenona. She with her husband traveled many foreign countries and most of the United States.  Mrs Warner was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, it's Ladies Aid and LaSalle County Homemakers.  She is survived by two daughters, Rhonda(Bill)Briest of Sherman and Rose Anne(Norm)Potthoff of Streator.  One son Randy(Janis)Warner of Wenona.  Six grandchildren, Troy(Jeni)Potthoff,Trisha(Tom)Pshak,Chad(Elizabeth)Shafer,Nick(Christy)Shafer,Lea(Bryan)Kaiser and Jake Warner.  Seven great-grandchildren.  One brother Fred(Eleanor)Stahl of Mount Pulaski.  She was preceded in death by her husband on March 9,2004,one son George William Warner,five brothers and four sisters.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to her church or Vitas Hospice.
