Howard J. Hoover

Howard J. Hoover, 94, of Oglesby passed away February 25, 2024 surrounded by his family at Allure of Peru.

Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Saturday at Oakwood Cemetery in La Salle with Rev. Gregory Jarzombek OSB officiating. The Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle has been entrusted with his arrangements.

Howard was born in La Salle on October 31, 1929 to John and Agnes (Andreski) Hoover. He married Helen Borovac on September 4, 1954. He worked at Westclox and Marquette Cement, and then he retired from Illinois Cement Company in 1991.

Howard is survived by one son John (Reanna) Pelszynski of La Salle; one daughter Judith (Richard) Sipovic of La Salle; five grandchildren Alicia (Gene) Schultz, David (Michelle) Pelszynski, Richard (Hannah) Sipovic, Amy (Thomas) Boyles, Chad (Justeen) Sipovic; and eight great grandchildren Eric, Charles, Hazel, William, Emmy, Allison, Lucille, and Charles.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Helen, two brothers Robert and John Jr., and one sister Audrey (Smith) Hoover.
