Gregory Scott Giachetto, born on June 12, 1962, in Spring Valley, passed away on July 31, 2024, after a valiant battle with lung cancer.
Mass of Christian burial will be 11:00 AM Monday August 5th at Nativity of Our Lord Parish in Spring Valley, with Rev. Ronald Margherio OSB officiating. Burial will follow at Ladd Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday August 4th from 2-7:00 PM at the Hurst Funeral Home in Ladd. Additional visitation will be in the church on Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of services.
Gregory, known for his unwavering dedication and love for his family, is survived by his five beloved children: Alex, Victoria, Matthew, Alicia, and Michael. As a father, Gregory was deeply committed, always putting his children first and providing them with a foundation of love and support.
Gregory excelled in his career in sales, working for Reuters, where he was respected and admired by colleagues and clients alike. His professionalism and passion for his work were evident in everything he did. Beyond his career, Gregory was a man of many interests. He was cherished by many for his warm personality, his kindness, and his ability to connect with others. He had a particular fondness for enjoying an old fashioned, savoring moments of joy and relaxation.
Greg is survived by his parents, Tom and Judy Giachetto of Ladd; his former spouse Sheryl Giachetto, mother of all five children; his sister, Cindy Dalzot; his brother, Tom (Rhonda) Giachetto; and his five nieces and nephews: Jena (Sean) Herrick, Molly, Ella, Abianne, and Bennett.
He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents.
Gregory's legacy is one of love, resilience, and excellence. He will be profoundly missed by all who knew him. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.
