Gina M. Shaw

Gina M. Shaw, 60, of Spring Valley, passed away at home surrounded by her family on November 4, 2025 after complications due to cancer.

A Celebration of Life will be Friday, November 7, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle. A private burial will be at a later date.

Gina was born in La Salle on August 23, 1965 to Michele Stanmar and Robert Wenskunas. She graduated from La Salle-Peru Township High School and married Michael Shaw on June 22, 1985. Gina had a great passion for antiques, and at one time, she owned her own antique store in Ladd called A Vintage Venue.

Gina is survived by her husband of 40 years, Michael D. Shaw of Spring Valley; her mother, Michele Stanmar of La Salle; three children, David (Diane) Shaw of Spring Valley, Zachary (Maddy) Shaw of Spring Valley, and Spencer (Amber) Shaw of Spring Valley; two grandchildren, Shelby and Ronnie Shaw; one brother, Kelly (Lynn) Neill of Oglesby; her mother-in-law, Ilene Shaw of Dalzell; brother-in-law, Bob Shaw of Chicago; sister-in-law, Kay (Sam) Forsan of Overland Park, KS; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Dr. Margaret Stanmar, father-in-law, Bill Shaw, and her mother’s significant other of 30 years, Rick Rynkewicz.
