Gary Smith Obituary

Gary D. Smith, 72, of La Salle, died peacefully on February 22, 2020 in Illinois Valley Community Hospital.

Cremation rites have been accorded and there will be no services. The Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle is handling his arrangements.

Gary was born in Camarillo, CA on August 20, 1947. He served with the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam Conflict. Gary married Kellie Frecchio on June 3, 2000. He was a construction worker and also worked as a Baker at Illinois Valley Food Center in La Salle. Gary enjoyed being a mechanic, baking, fishing and telling stories.

He is survived by his wife Kellie of La Salle; one son Morgan Smith of La Salle; one step-daughter Kammie Motahar of Pecatonica; four grandchildren, Maci, Preston, Gaven and Sophia.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
