Floyd Elmer Beams, 79, of Utica, passed away on April 18, 2023 from natural causes in OSF St. Anthony’s Medical Center in Rockford,
Funeral services will be 11:30 AM Saturday in the Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle with Rev. Nathan Lambie, pastor of Christ Family Foursquare Church in La Salle officiating. Masonic services will be at 10:00 AM and visitation will be 10:30 until 11:30 AM.
Floyd was born in Campbellsville, KY on November 28, 1943 to Elmer and Verble (Skaggs) Beams. At the age of 19, he married Pearl Marie Anderson on May 12, 1963 and went on to have three children.
Floyd was a Christian and lived a full life. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, bowling and metal detecting. He was an avid Chicago Sox and Bears fan. He worked at Caterpillar in Aurora for over 30 years and was a Union Steward for UAW.
Floyd is survived by his wife of 60 years, Pearl of Utica; children, David Beams of La Salle, Dawn (Timothy) Beams-Ladzinski of Ottawa and Diana Beams of Morris; grandchildren, David Joseph Beams, Dr. Adam (Lyndsay) Ladzinski, Aaron Ladzinski and Anna Ladzinski; brother-in-law Richard Anderson; sister-in-law Wanda Neff; great granddaughter Emma Pearl Ladzinski and multiple nephews and nieces. He deeply loved all his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother William Beams and sister Tina Nelson.
