Eloise Nekrosius

Eloise Nekrosius, 81, of La Salle, passed away peacefully in her home on December 24, 2024.

Mass of Christian burial will be 11:00 AM Saturday December 28, 2024 in St. Patrick’s Church in La Salle with Rev. Gregory Jarzombek OSB officiating.  Burial will be in St. Vincent’s Cemetery in La Salle.  Visitation will be in the church on Saturday from 9:00 AM until time of services.  The Hurst Funeral Home is entrusted with funeral arrangements.

Mrs. Nekrosius was born in La Salle on August 28, 1943 to Tom and Lucille (Stachowiak) Ciesielski.  She married Richard “Nick” Nekrosius on July 31, 1965.

Mrs. Nekrosius was an avid reader.  She was a member and past-president of La Salle Public School Board.  She was a 5th grade elementary school teacher in Plainfield until she decided to stay home to raise her two daughters.  She then taught at JFK in Spring Valley until 2004.  She became a substitute teacher, enjoying teaching her grandson Nicholas at Trinity Catholic in La Salle.  She enjoyed playing cards with her bridge and her euchre club. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Church in La Salle.

Mrs. Nekrosius is survived by two daughters, Laura (Mike Sabotta) Munson of La Salle and Andrea (Larry) Weber of La Salle; one grandson Nicholas (Denae Tolu) Munson of Kettering, OH; one nephew Greg (Kari Knowles) Henry of Colorado; one niece Allison (Mike Fassula) Henry of Colorado; one great niece Annalyse Brenzikofer of Colorado; brother-in-law Pat (Velma) Henry of Florida.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Nick on December 12, 2023 and her sister JoAnne Henry.
