Elizabeth “Betty” Lucille (née Templeton) Raasch was born April 9, 1928, in Cherry, Illinois, to Charles and Lucy (Ronchetti) Templeton. She was baptized at Cherry Congregational Church and was confirmed at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church in Milwaukee. Betty graduated from Hall High School in Spring Valley, Illinois, in 1946 and continued her education in Chicago at “Master Dress Design.” She married Howard Raasch at Cherry Congregational Church on February 18, 1950. She worked in retail sales of women’s designer clothing for 45 years. Betty was a member of First Immanuel Lutheran Church, Cedarburg, Wisconsin, since 1994. She was called to her heavenly home on Sunday, March 3, 2024, through faith in her Savior, Jesus Christ, at the age of 95.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Thomas Templeton, Charles Templeton and Robert Templeton, and her son-in-law, Gary Krohn. Betty is survived by Howard, her beloved husband of 74 years; her children, Lynn Krohn, Rev. Randolph (Diana) Raasch, Jeffrey (Wende) Raasch, Timothy (Janet) Raasch. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Daniel Krohn, Andrew (Allison) Krohn, Elizabeth (Daniel) Cattau, Ann Danielson, Sarah (Patrick) Danielson, Victoria (Mitch) Mostardi, Robert Raasch, Mary Elizabeth Raasch, Genevieve Raasch, Lucy Raasch, Nora Raasch, and her great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Riley Krohn, Brady Kasper; Madelyn, Emily and Elijah Cattau; Josephine and Theodore Mostardi. Betty is further survived by her sister, Mary Ellen Storkman, as well as nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Memorials to First Immanuel Lutheran Church, Cedarburg, WI and The Peter Kelm Memorial Lutheran School in Ghana, Africa are appreciated.
Visitation will be held at Cherry UCC Church from 10:30-11:15 a.m. on Saturday, March 9, with a devotional service at 11:15 a.m.Interment will be at Miners’ Memorial Cemetery in Cherry, Illinois.
