Eleanore S. Soberalski, 94, formerly of LaSalle, died March 24, 2021, in Ottawa Pavilion Nursing Home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:00 PM Monday, March 29 in St. Hyacinth’s Church in LaSalle with Rev Thomas Otto officiating. Burial will be in St. Hyacinth’s Cemetery. Visitation will be in the church on Monday from 11:30 AM until time of services. The Hurst Funeral Home in LaSalle is handling Eleanore’s arrangements.
She was born in Chicago on May 15, 1926 to John and Mary (Szott) Drechsler. She married Leonard “Butch” A. Soberalski in St. Mary of the Angels Church in Chicago on July 27, 1946. Eleanore was a graduate of Tuley High School of Chicago. She was a Dental Assistant and retired as an office worker and seamstress. She was a member of St. Roch’s, Resurrection, and St. Hyacinth’s Church. Eleanore was active in the church choirs. She enjoyed cooking, canning, Girl Scouts, gardening, crocheting, sewing, and camping and fishing with her husband and family.
Eleanore is survived by two daughters; JoAnn (Donald) Jones of Ottawa and Carol (George) Hegland of Oglesby, five grandchildren; Tina (Michael) Bland, Rachel (Daniel) Green, Rebecca (James) Prideaux, Todd (Elizabeth) Hegland, and Sarah (Michael) Alaimo, twelve great-grandchildren; Nicole (Tyler) Walters, Courtney and Michael Bland, Ashlee (Stephen) Simmons, Kelley (William) Golden, Kyle, Evan, and Cody Green, Madeline and Joseph Prideaux, and Ella and Colin Alaimo, six great-great-grandchildren; Benjamin, Maddison, Malcomb, and Levi Bland, Elizabeth Golden, and Avery Walters, one sister; Virginia Zyman of San Antonio, TX.
She was preceded in death by her husband on February 26, 1997, her twin sister; Evelyn Soltis, and a great-grandson; David Bland.
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
