Eleanor M. Johnson

Eleanor M. Johnson, 93, of La Salle, formerly of Utica, passed away April 24, 2024 at La Salle County Nursing Home in Ottawa. 

Funeral services will be 7:00 PM Friday May 10 at the Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle with Rev. Alex Garncarz, pastor of Zion United Church of Christ in Peru officiating.  Visitation will be Friday from 5 to 7:00 PM

Burial will be private at St. Vincent’s Cemetery in La Salle. 

Mrs. Johnson was born in La Salle on June 12, 1930 to Peter and Anastasia (Wawrzyniak) Schepp. She married Donald E. Johnson on December 24, 1950. She worked at Westclox, Kaskaskia Hotel, and Spiller & Spiller. She enjoyed fishing, planting her flowers, and being outdoors. She was an avid pet lover. 

Mrs. Johnson is survived by one son Martin (Laurie) Johnson of La Salle, eleven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one more on the way.

She was preceded in death by her husband on December 3, 1998, one son Michael Johnson, and two great-grandchildren.
