Edward “Ed” Dergance

Edward “Ed” Dergance, 64, of La Salle, passed away unexpectedly at home on June 8, 2026.

A Celebration of Life will be on Friday, June 12, from 4 to 7:00 PM in the Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle.

Ed was born in La Salle on February 7, 1962 to Andrew and Edith (Zokal) Dergance.  He was raised by Katie and Tony Maurowski.

He married Anne Marie Campbell in 1978.  He then married Mary Gnidovic on November 17, 1989.

Ed was an auto mechanic.  He enjoyed working on cars, demo demolitions. taking long rides with Mary and telling dad jokes.  He loved his dogs, taking them to the dog park and going for rides.

Ed was survived by his wife Mary of La Salle; one daughter Dana Dergance of Ladd; three sons, Ed Dergance of La Salle, Ryan (Lauren) Dergance of Downers Grove and Sean Dergance of Peru; six grandchildren, Alivia, Rylee, Alijah, Levi, Ava and Demi; three great-grandchildren, Aariyah, D’Khari and Laielle; two sisters, Mary Thies of Oglesby and Patricia (John) Swift of Florida; two brothers, Andrew (Cindy) Dergance of La Salle and John (Karen) Dergance of Spring Valley.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Mona Rogel.
