Edward J. Manczynski

Edward J. Manczynski, 71, of La Salle, passed away peacefully with family and friends at his side on May 25, 2021 at OSF St. Francis Heart of Mary in Urbana. 

Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday June 2 in St. Hyacinth’s Cemetery in La Salle. The Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle is assisting the family with arrangements.

Edward was born in La Salle on March 21, 1950 to John and Geraldine (Pyzska) Manczynski. He graduated from Nothern Illinois University with a BS in Education. He was a reading specialist and taught 5th and 6th grade in the La Salle elementary schools.

Edward had a great rapport with his students and colleagues. For many summers and part-time, he worked at Tri-City Hardware and La Salle Office Supply.

Edward is survived by his sister Chris Katkus of Batavia, brother-in-law Larry Katkus of St. Charles, nephew Mitch Katkus of Maple Park, and friend and part-time caregiver, Ronald Lavrin of DePue.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Illinois Valley Animal Rescue.
