Edgar W. Phillips

Edgar W. Phillips, 86, of La Salle, passed away peacefully at home on May 25, 2021.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday in the Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle with Rev. Betty Delgado officiating.  Burial will be in Peru City Cemetery with full military honors by the Peru Veterans Memorial Group.  Visitation will be Saturday from 9:30 AM until time of services.

Edgar was born in La Salle on July 13, 1934 to Edgar M. and Adele (Treager) Phillips. He served in the United States Army where he was stationed in Washington, D.C.  Edgar retired from LTV Steel in 1999.  He married Marie Towne on January 23, 1960.

Edgar is survived by his wife Marie; four children, Becky Brown of Peru, Lou Ann (Jason) Grimes of Serena, Bonnie Bixby of Cary and Edgar T. Phillips of La Salle; twelve grandchildren, Rachel, Cheryl, Joshua, Alyssa, Whitney, Adam, Kira, Trevor, Luke, Joel, Kirsten and Michael; four great-grandchildren, Scotty, William, Ryker and Brinley; one sister Joan Derango of Peru.

He was preceded in death by his parents Edgar and Adele Phillips, one daughter Candace Phillips, one grandson Nathan Berogan, two sisters, Donna Oberholz and Beverly Adrian.

Pallbearers will be Joshua, Adam, Luke, Trevor, Michael and Kira.
