Doug Abbott

Douglas P. Abbott, 62, of Oglesby passed away on October 19, 2023 in his home.

Cremation rites have been accorded and there will be no services, but family and friends are encouraged to spend a public or private moment remembering Doug each in your own individual way Sunday at noon.

Doug was born on August 4, 1961 in Denver, CO to Florence and George Abbott. He graduated from La Salle-Peru Township High School in 1980. Doug later graduated from Illinois Valley Community College in 1994. He worked for Metalwares Inc. from 1983 to 1991 and at IVCC from 1991 to 1997. 

Doug enjoyed collecting rock and roll music on records, tape, video, and disc. He loved the Beatles. He enjoyed walking, visiting libraries, and archives. 

Doug is survived by numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Paulette, grandmother Zanas Rys.
