Dorothy A. Kenney

Dorothy A. Kenney, 92, of Pontiac and formerly of Wenona, passed away February 2, 2024 in OSF St. James Medical Center in Pontiac.

Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Wenona with the Franciscan Friars officiating.  The Hurst Funeral Home in Wenona is entrusted with her funeral arrangements.

Ms. Kenney was born in Wenona on May 9, 1931 to Leroy and Helen (Vinsec) Kenney Sr.  She graduated from Wenona High School and worked at Thatcher Glass factory.  Dorothy was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Wenona and St. Mary’s Church in Pontiac.  She loved playing bingo, shopping and going out to eat.

She is survived by two sisters, Margaret “Marge” Fraher of Pontiac and Sharon (Jack) Schneider of Barrington; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister.
