Donald F. Kosciewicz

Donald F. Kosciewicz, 75, of Peru, passed away unexpectedly on January 25, 2023 at St. Margaret’s Health in Spring Valley.

Mass of Christian burial will be 2:00 PM Thursday February 2 at St. Mary’s Church in Peru with Rev. J.A. Small officiating. Visitation will be in the church from 1:00 PM until time of services. The Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle is assisting the family with arrangements.

Don was born in La Salle on February 8, 1947 to Frank and Mildred (Schultz) Kosciewicz. He married Sandra Phelps on July 8, 1972. He owned and operated Don’s Glass Shop in Peru for over 50 years. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, gardening, and playing video games. He loved being outside and was meticulous with his yard. He was fond of his dogs. Don was a dedicated blood donor with the Red Cross donating 26 gallons. He was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Peru.

Don is survived by his wife Sandy of Peru, two sons Brian (JoAnn) Kosciewicz of Peru and Kevin Kosciewicz of Loves Park, and one grandson Alex Kosciewicz of Peru.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister.
