Diane M. Foltynewicz

Diane M. Foltynewicz, 83, of Tonica, passed away on November 4, 2024 at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Peru.

Funeral services will be 12:00 PM Saturday November 9, 2024 in the Hurst Funeral Home in Tonica with Rev. Paul Carlson officiating.  Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Tonica. Visitation will be Saturday from 9:30 AM until time of services.

Diane was born in La Salle on March 15, 1941 to Peter and Betty (Baker) Ribolzi.  She married Robert “Bob Folty” Foltynewicz on October 11, 1958.  She along with Bob, owned and operated Folty’s Supermarket in Tonica for over 50 years.  She then worked as a cook at Illinois Valley Community Hospital.

Diane was a member of the Pink Ribbon Club and volunteer EMT for the Tonica Ambulance Department.  She enjoyed painting, crafts, gardening, and crocheting. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Diane is survived by two sons, William (Norma) of Oglesby and Dirk (Cathy) of Marseilles; 4 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and 5 step-great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Patricia (Mike) Furlan of La Salle and Susan (Jim) Kasprowicz of La Salle; 2 brothers, Jimmy (Patricia) Ribolzi of Norway and Ronald (Lisa) Ribolzi of Columbia, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bob on December 12, 2022, a grandson Kevin Foltynewicz, one brother Bobby Ribolzi and her step father Howard Morgan.
