Dean Alan Milus, 67, of Spring Valley, passed away April 2, 2022 in OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Funeral services will be 7:00 PM Wednesday in the Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until time of services. Burial will be private Thursday in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Utica.
Dean was born in Marseilles on March 7, 1955 to Alan and Joyce (Shaver) Milus. He was retired from Del Monte in Mendota. He also worked at Sunstrand and Stuart’s Tree Service.
Dean was the first of nine children. The bond that he shared with his siblings, children and grandchildren was a special one. Dean loved to be the life of the party and left an indelible mark on anyone that he came across. He truly was someone who knew how to make a lasting impression. He could entertain for hours with his stories about days passed. Dean loved the White Sox and Bears, and make sure everyone knew it. An avid Elvis Presley fan, Dean’s love for the king never faded. He will sorely be missed, but the memories had by his loved ones will be sure that he lives on.
Dean is survived by five children, Beth Ann (Russ) Hamilton of Utica, Becky (Steve) Kofoid of Oglesby, Brian Milus of Oglesby, Tony (Tanya) Milus of Mendota and Brandon (Paola) Milus of Oglesby; nineteen grandchildren; four sisters, Debbie and Denise Milus of Peru, Jolene (Tim) Plankenhorn of Peru, and Amy (Mark) Powers of Peoria; three brothers, Dani Milus of Mineral, Dennis (Dennis) Milus of Denver, CO and Dave (Lori) Milus of Peru; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his step-father Joe Myers and one sister Denett Bartlett.
