David "Dave" G. Walters

David G. Walters, 71, of La Salle, passed away unexpectedly after a brief illness on June 6, 2024 at St. Anthony’s Medical Center in Rockford.

Cremation rites have been accorded.

Dave was born in La Salle on May 24, 1953 to George A. and Adele M. (Fabish) Walters. He attended St. Patrick’s Catholic School and was a 1971 graduate of St. Bede Academy. Dave married Randa Kelish on December 13, 1976. He worked for 40 years with Aramark Uniforms.

Dave enjoyed gardening, fishing, bird watching, and attending his grandkids events. He was a St. Louis Cardinals and Green Bay Packers fan.

Dave is survived by his wife Randa of La Salle; and three children Tara Champlin of Peru, Ryan (Carolyn) Walters of Oglesby, and Dana Walters of La Salle. He was the proud Gramps to Paige Champlin, Addyson Champlin, and Carter Walters. Dave is also survived by one sister Susan Padilla of Utica and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Cyndee Walters on April 21, 2023.
