David “Neil” Lahman Sr., 83, of Wenona, died May 23, 2022, at OSF St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Bloomington.
Funeral services will be 12:00 PM Saturday in the Hurst Funeral Home in Wenona. Burial will be in Wenona Cemetery. Visitation will be in the funeral home from 10:00 AM until time of services.
Mr. Lahman was born in Streator on February 12, 1939, to David and Maxine (Crawford) Lahman. He was born and raised on a farm outside of Kangley, where he enjoyed farming in his early years. He then worked at Thatcher's and then retired at Owens Illinois Glass. He married Carol Promenschenkel in 1958. He then married Mariva Foster on December 28, 1994 and she survives.
Mr. Lahman was a graduate of Streator High School in 1957. He was a member of Sandy Ford Sportsman’s Club and Marshall County Sportsman’s Club. He enjoyed target shooting, hunting, trail riding, and spending time in his “garden”.
Mr. Lahman is survived by three children; Cynthia (Terry) Washko, Kimberly Lahman, and David (Dana Sneath) Lahman Jr, all of Kangley, two grandchildren; Amber (Marty) Bedeker and Jacob (Kim) Lahman, four great-grandchildren; Madison, Morgan, and Skyler Bedeker and Aubrey Lahman, three sisters; Gayle (Bill) Neighbor of Bertram, TX, Joanne (George) Pavlick of Streator, and Dianne O’Hern of Streator, and his first wife Carol Lahman of Streator and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Richard Lahman.
Pallbearers will be grandchildren and nephews: Jacob Lahman, Marty and Amber Bedeker, James and Ron Baietto, David Pavlick, and Sean O’Hern.
