Darlene E. Ioerger, 91, of Wenona, passed away December 25, 2022 in Aperion Health Care in Spring Valley.
Memorial services will be 11:00 AM Saturday January 7, 2023 in Zion Lutheran Church in Wenona with Rev. Peter M. Glock officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until time of services. Private burial will be at a later date in Minonk Township Cemetery. The Hurst Funeral Home in Wenona is assisting Darlene’s family.
Mrs. Ioerger was born in Magnolia on June 19, 1931 to Herbert and Evelyn (Crone) Volker. She married Clifford Ioerger in 1951, She was co-owner of Owl Truck Line in Wenona with her husband for 25 years. She also was a waitress at Village Inn in Tonica. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. She also loved being outside planting flower and working in her yard.
Mrs. Ioerger is survived by one daughter Nancy (Rick) Salz of La Salle; three sons, Steve (Willa) Ioerger of Colorado, Greg (Dianna) Ioerger of Lostant and Tim (Cori) Ioerger of Roanoke; eleven grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; one sister Donna Mae (Richard) Oncken of Minonk.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on May 26, 1996, one great-great grandson and five brothers, Darrel, Donald, Darvin, John and Jim Volker.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association of Peoria.
