Daniel F. Sharpe

Daniel F. Sharpe, 72, of Peru, passed away on October 6, 2024 in OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford.

Funeral services will be 6:00 PM Thursday in the Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle with Rev. Paul Carlson officiating. Visitation will be in the funeral home from 3:00 PM until time of services. Cremation will follow services.  Burial will be 10:00 Friday in St. Vincent’s Cemetery in La Salle with full military services conduct by the La Salle/Oglesby Veteran’s Memorial Group.

Dan was born in La Salle on May 31, 1952 to Raymond and Lillian (Groleau) Sharpe.  He served with the United States Army for 25 years, retiring as a Master Sergeant.  After the Army, Dan worked at Menards and St. Vincent’s Cemetery.

Dan was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.  He enjoyed bowling, working at the cemetery and being outdoors.

Dan is survived by two sisters, Susan Swingle of La Salle and Beth (Thomas) Rademacher of Kankakee; three brothers, Ray (Mary) Sharpe of Peru, Thomas Sharpe of Oglesby and Timothy Sharpe of La Salle; aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
