Daniel P. Iwanicki, 87, of Oglesby passed away on May 27, 2022.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A private family Celebration of Life will be at a later date. The Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mr. Iwanicki was born in Chicago on August 9, 1934 to Anthony and Regina (Zmich) Iwanicki. He served with the US Army during the Korean War, stationed in North Carolina as a company clerk. He was a member of La Salle Catholic War Veterans Post #1229. He married Jacqueline Rozhon on June 23, 1962. Mr. Iwanicki worked in the outdoor advertising business all his life. He started P&D Signs in Peru with his son Patrick in 1985.
Mr. Iwanicki loved spending time with his immediate and extended family. He enjoyed a good card game of Blitz with them. In his younger days, he enjoyed hunting and scuba diving.
Mr. Iwanicki is survived by his wife Jacqueline “Jackie” of Oglesby; four sons Michael (Denise) Iwanicki of Batavia, Tim Iwanicki of Oglesby, Patrick Iwanicki of Peru, and Doug (Sheri) Iwanicki of Springfield; four grandchildren; Loren Iwanicki, Cydnee “CJ” (Brian) Rudelich, Madi Iwanicki, Gabe Iwanicki, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son Daniel “Grady” Iwanicki, his sister Joan, and his brother Anthony.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Daniel “Grady” Iwanicki Scholarship at Illinois Valley Credit Union.
