Daniel Curtin Obituary

Daniel Walter Curtin, 72, passed away unexpectedly at his home on March 30, 2025.

He is survived by his son Daniel Curtin (Emily), the mother of his son and lifelong friend Roxanne Cherpeske, his adored granddaughter, and siblings: Michael Curtin, Patty (Michael) Wagner, and Peggy (dec David) Hunter. In addition, Gary Curtin, Wally (Kerry) Curtin, Lori (Bill) Robinson, Charlotte Brejc.

Daniel was born February 2, 1953, to Walter M. Curtin & Shirlee W. Curtin at St. Mary’s Hospital in La Salle, Illinois. He was a crucial asset in the construction of the La Salle County Nuclear Power Station as well as the Byron Nuclear Power Station, serving as a manager of craft and ambassador through the William A Pope company. He then continued the family business his grandfather had started in 1914; Curtin Plumbing and Heating, while also expanding into water conditioning and purification systems.

Daniel was a man committed to ensuring quality in not only the work he did but in the lives of the people he cared for. Outside of his dedication to his family and work, he enjoyed his life through travel, furthering his abilities through a constant pursuit of knowledge, technology, and looking after the well-being of animals. But overall, his biggest smiles and largest source of pride eventually were seen from the time he spent with his granddaughter. While his unwavering commitment to his family, friends, and work will forever remain; his presence will be forever missed by the ones who truly appreciated and recognized his impact. May he finally rest in peace.

In lieu of flowers, any contribution to his memory is requested to be given to Illinois Valley Animal Rescue in La Salle or Safe House Animal Rescue in Peru.
