Chuck Sherman

Chuck Sherman, 85, of Peru, passed away April 17, 2023 in St. Margaret’s Health in Spring Valley.

Funeral services will be private and burial will be in St. Vincent’s Cemetery in La Salle.  The Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle is entrusted with Chuck’s funeral services.

Mr. Sherman was born in Peru on November 29, 1937 to Lois Johnston.  He married Peggy Williams on December 3, 1966.

He retired from Thermogas in La Salle after 37 years.  Chuck enjoyed golfing, fishing and helping with projects for family and friends.  He loved traveling to his grandkids activities and having coffee with his friends at McDonald’s. He was a Red Coat at IVCH and was a long term member of the Elk’s.

Chuck is survived by his wife Peggy of Peru; four sons, Chuck (Janet) Sherman of Streator, Jeff Sherman of Martelle, IA., Brent (Janette) Sherman of Plainfield and Greg (Heather) Sherman of Tonica; ten grandchildren, Heather (Brad Barker) Sherman, Chuck (Sara) Sherman, Michelle (Tony) Drysdale, Dr. Lindy (Joe Liberko) Sherman, Taylor, Laurel, Justin, Jordan, Avery and Mason Sherman; three great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson Jaden Sherman.
